I am a masters middle distance runner. I focus primarily on the mile. I'm also mom, taking care of my amazing family which consists of a little house filled with love from my husband, 2 daughters & miniature dachshund (and all the crazy that goes with it too).

I've always been a runner. I'd be the kid who was always asking everyone to race. I retired from competition in 1998, married my best friend & we started a little family. I worked full-time in financial services for 10 years but after our second daughter was born I decided to stay home. Not long after, I started my first handmade company selling on Etsy. I ran this business from home for 8 years but I closed my company in September 2016. I started private coaching, then I became a high school coach and now I coach at Fordham University.

Runner

I started running at the age of 12 and joined our middle school cross country team with only three meets left in the season. I came in third in the league meet. I went on to set a number of high school records for cross-country, indoor & outdoor track and finished out high school with All-New England status.

I was a walk-on at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst Track & Cross-Country Teams under head coach Julie LaFreniere. Our team won many A-10 championships, set a university record in the 4x800 and I was Conference Champion in several events. It was a great foundation for the next step in my running career.

After college, I ran for an Olympic Development team under head coach Bob Sevene. Our DMR team came in 2nd at the USATF Indoor Nationals and I ran my PRs of 2:08 in 800 meters and 4:19 in the 1500 meters. It was the pinnacle of my running career.

I took a break from racing for many years after this success in order to focus on my personal life and start a family. Running has always been a part of who I am and even when I wasn't racing, I still enjoyed going out for a daily run for physical & mental well being.

In the spring of 2013, I returned to a regular running routine in order to claim my body back after a rough physical road. In the fall of 2013, I decided I wanted to return to competitive racing. In April of 2016, after many misdiagnoses, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease.

Currently I train with an elite group of runners under head coach Devon Martin and the Central Park Track Club. Since becoming a Masters runner, I've run a 4:54 mile and 4:37 for 1500 meters. My run goal is to run faster than when I was 23. My times are getting close. Even if I come up short, it is a worthy goal. I use the hashtag #fasterasamaster

My Family

My husband and I have been best friends since high school and our favorite past-time is going to country music concerts. We have two daughters. They are both very active & enjoy a number of activities.

We have one miniature dachshund in our family but will always remember the chaos of having 3 little doxies running around.
